TEAM KOBI!
Watching the hot dog eating contest has become somewhat of a tradition for me. It’s just good fun, taken to such a high (absurd) level that you can’t help but to be impressed.
The legend Kobayashi truly raised the level of competition and helped take the eating contest to the masses. Unfortunately, the grinding, powerful wheels of a giant company decided they wanted to own Kobayashi http://www.takeru-kobayashi.com/blog/2011/07/independence_day_2011.html . It’s pretty clear they were/are taking advantage here. Plus the lack of consideration for someone who helped them establish this competition is just wrong.
Not that I eat Nathans hot dogs a bunch, but from now on I eat Crif Dogs (whatever those are?). And I will be watching the Crif Dog Classic on July 4th http://www.takeru-kobayashi.com/blog/2012/05/new_hot_dog_contest_on_july_4t_1.html .
… but yeah, I’ll probably watch them both at the same time,… wait, no, I’m boycotting! Down with Nathan’s Hot Dogs!
… I just realized my youngest son’s name is Nathan, we might have to change that… well, I didn’t just realize that, I DID know his name was Nathan, anyway, … focus, down with Nathan’s Hot Dogs.

Kobayashi won!
The arrogance of Nathan’s hot dog eating competition really ‘eats’ at me. Anyway, I’m still a Kobayashi fan and think the ungrateful, greedy Nathan’s should apologize or go bankrupt.
