Woohoo, I’ll be in New Orleans for the annual Society for Neuroscience Conference (Oct 13-17). My poster is Sunday evening if anyone wants to come talk about NRSF, epigenetics, RNA interference, Bioinformatics,… Electronic lab notebooks
.
This might be my last SFN for awhile, as a Bioinformatics Software Developer I’m more into analyzing data, developing apps/pipelines, and lncRNAs right now.

Well, SFN has come and gone again. Wow, New Orleans is one crazy and strange place. Thanks to all those who came and visited my poster.
The attendance to the conference seemed a bit lower this year, but was plenty crowded. Thermo Fisher didn’t have anyone from Biosci division at their exhibit. Strange, since we just released our new unified website (www.thermoscientificbio.com) and it’s pretty awesome
. I told some people about it at my poster, since microRNAs are hot and I’m sure long non codiing RNAs will be hot soon. People liked the site. Sadly, they had no idea of the products until I told them about it. Hopefully our name gets out there a bit more in the future.
It was good to see old friends and some of the new research. The climate seems hard (if not impossible) for up and coming grad students, post docs. But hopefully everyone can find their place and find opportunities.
